4-Point Verification Checklist Before You Deposit

Essential checks every investor should perform before transferring funds to any platform.

Learn How We Verify β†’
01

Match License Numbers

Cross-reference the firm's claimed registration number directly on GBR or the official regulator register.

02

Verify Exact Web Domain

Check that the website URL matches the legal entity filings on record to avoid cloned scam sites.

03

Confirm Segregated Accounts

Ensure client funds are held in Tier-1 custodian banks separate from the broker's operational accounts.

04

Inspect Upheld Abuse Logs

Check GBR's public warning register for recent enforcement notices or upheld investor abuse reports.

What is Global Broker Registry?

GBR is a public lookup platform that helps retail traders and investors verify whether a brokerage or investment firm is genuinely registered with one or more of 12 global financial regulators. Every firm record is checked against the relevant regulator's official register before publication.

Each firm record is manually verified against the relevant regulator's official register. A verification badge (Verified / Pending Verification / Not Verified), trust score, and firm age provide independent signals to help you assess a firm before depositing money.

GBR is an independent information service and not a government regulator. Always verify critical information directly with the relevant regulatory authority.

Why Use GBR

Independent signals, curated data, one place to check.

12 Regulators

FCA, ASIC, CySEC, NFA, SEC, FSCA, DFSA, FSRA, FSPR, MAS, CIRO, FINMA β€” all in one place.

Verified Against Official Registers

Every firm record is checked against the relevant regulator's official register and confirmed before publication.

Trust Signals

Verification badges, trust scores, firm age β€” independent signals beyond raw registration data.

5 Warning Signs of an Unlicensed Broker

Key red flags to spot before depositing funds with any trading platform.

Report a Suspicious Broker β†’
01

Guaranteed High Returns

Promises of fixed daily or monthly profits with zero risk. Legitimate brokerages never guarantee investment performance.

02

Offshore-Only Licensing

Operates exclusively under low-oversight or unverified offshore registrations without holding tier-1 or tier-2 licenses.

03

Withdrawal Blockers

Demands bogus 'tax payments' or 'clearance fees' before allowing you to withdraw your own funds.

04

High-Pressure Sales Calls

Aggressive cold calls or Telegram managers urging immediate crypto transfers or wire payments to personal accounts.

05

Forged Credentials

Displays fake license numbers or claims to be a subsidiary of a regulated firm without verifiable proof.

Regulatory Framework

Understanding Regulator Tiers & Investor Safeguards

Not all regulatory licenses offer the same protection. Understanding regulatory tiers helps you assess the true legal recourse available if a firm fails or defaults.

Tier-2 β€” Regional Oversight

Tier-2 Jurisdictions

πŸ‡¨πŸ‡Ύ CySEC β€’ πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦ FSCA β€’ πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ CIRO β€’ πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ͺ DFSA / FSRA

βœ“ Solid regional oversight
